THE PIETRA PARCELLARA
Pietra Parcellara is a mountain located in the Trebbia Valley in Piacenza province. The North side belongs to Travo village, and the South side to Bobbio village.
Made of ophiolite of serpentine stone, even if not so high (836 m) it dominates the near hills sticking out drastically for its morphology, colour and majesty. From its peak, you can enjoy an amazing view on the Trebbia Valley, Bobbiano Valley, Luretta Valley, the Mount Penice and the near area. It can be reached by two roads: one starting from Travo passing through Chiosi village, and the other from the Caldarola passage; you can get to the top quite easily, walking just for ten minutes. At the bottom of the stone, close to Bobbio village, there is the Oratory of Caravaggio’s Madonna, at the dependence of Mezzano Parish Church.
